The ethics probe against him was stopped after Matt Gaetz resigned from Congress today. Allegedly accused of sex trafficking, sexual misconduct, and drug use.

The president-elect is rewarding those most loyal to him, and with this recent appointment, puts Gaetz into a very powerful position.

More information on appointments were gleaned from AP today:

Latest Trump appointments: So far on Wednesday, Trump named Marco Rubio as his pick for secretary of state, Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence, and Matt Gaetz for attorney general.

New Senate leader: GOP senators have elected South Dakota Sen. John Thune as the next Senate majority leader, elevating a top deputy of Mitch McConnell into a key position.

Trump-Biden meeting: The White House says Biden and Trump had a “substantive meeting” for about two hours in the Oval Office earlier Wednesday. Biden also stressed to Trump that the transition will be orderly and there will be a peaceful transfer of power.

There will be a 2 month timer in place to find a replacement for his old job. At least he's an attorney, and that requirement help solidify his role in Trump's administration. Along with his steadfast loyalty - which Trump demands, it's clear America is on a new track of governance in the next few months ahead.
