A shooting happened today at the Abundant Life Christian School, located in Madison, Wisconsin.
The school has 400 students from kindergarten through 12th grade, and children were amongst the dead - including the attacker. The attacker was juvenile and under 18, prompting a massive response by police and emergency services.
"Multiple injuries have been reported," the Madison Police wrote on social media. "This remains an active and ongoing investigation."
• A teacher and a student are dead after a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, Police Chief Shon Barnes said Monday. Six people were injured, including two who have life-threatening injuries, according to Barnes.
• The female shooter, 17, is believed to have died from a self-inflicted wound, according to a law enforcement official. The police chief said the suspect was a student at the school.
• Abundant Life Christian school is a K-12 school that serves about 420 students, according to an administrator. It planned to close for Christmas vacation after this week.
President Biden phoned Governor Tony Evers and offered support to help the impacted community - the White House reported.
The suspect, yet unnamed, was 17 years old and a student at the school. The suspect opened fire at students and apparently was found dead inside the school. It is assumed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
