A cloaked gunman waited several minutes before creeping up from behind, shooting him dead on the streets of NYC today.

Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare, was leaving his Hilton hotel to a conference when an unknown assailant shot several times from behind.

Thompson, 50, was the CEO for 3 years at United Healthcare - from Minnesota. It appears to be a targeted attack, pre-planned, as the assailant waited outside for several minutes before he appeared.

Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information on the attack, which happened at 6:45 EST today.

He was on his way to an investor conference and did not have any security with him at the time.

The shooter stepped out from behind a car and began firing several round at Thompson before he collapsed onto the sidewalk.

The attacker continued shooting as he approached Thompson, until the gun jammed.

Unbelievably, the assailant cleared the gun jam, then shot him again, and left.

Responding to reporter questions, Kenny said police don’t know if the shooter could have been a professional, nor could investigators say if there was a silencer on the weapon. From watching the video, he said, “it does seem that he’s proficient in the use of firearms as he was able to clear the malfunctions pretty quickly.”

After his initial flight from the scene, the suspect was later seen riding an e-bike, including when he was spotted in Central Park.

According to Paulette Thompson, his wife, he had been receiving some threats. She said:

“There had been some threats,” she said in a phone call. “Basically, I don’t know, a lack of coverage? I don’t know details. I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him.”
