Rep. Kay Granger has been serving as the representative for Texas's 12th Congressional district since 1997. She disappeared in July 2024, as she cast a final vote against an amendment to reduce the salary of Deputy Assistant Administrator for Pesticide Programs to $1.

The Dallas Express had a reporter try and track her down. First, they called the number associated to her.

“I am sorry we are unable to answer your phone right now,” Granger said. “We are really glad you called us.

“Please leave your name, phone number and a brief message and someone in our office will call you back as soon as possible.”

A local resident told them that she was residing at an assistant living facility specializing in memory care.

Apparently she was visibly in decline as early as 2022 when she ran for re-election. She had announced her retirement from Congress.

A sad example of government waste.
