Christopher Wray will soon have to decide when to resign after President-elect Trump has nominated a loyalist, Kash Patel, to the position.
Here's what will happen: Wray will either have to resign from his position before Trump takes the reigns in January, or he will personally fire him. Through watching the Apprentice and the last Trump administration, he enjoys firing people who annoy him.
Convinced of a deep state, Patel will have to prove he is eligible to the confirmation hearings. He wants to get rid of people who might be conspiring against Trump.
Patel will also be focusing on the crackdown on leaks of information by government officials to the media. He wants the Justice Department to revoke it's policy prohibiting the secret seizure of reporters phone records in leak investigations.
We can thank Attorney General Merrick Garland for that. He's seeking to close down the Pennsylvania Avenue HQ and put people who work there in different parts of the country. These are bold and ambitious plans.
