For the first time since the fire in 2019, the Notre Dame Cathedral is open again - this time with president-elect Donald Trump visiting.
Let's be clear: Macron was never on Trump's Christmas card list, but even so, he's making efforts to moon walk backwards and have the future president visit.
And although President Biden was invited, he won't be showing up at this event. Jill Biden will visit instead, citing scheduling conflicts.
Right.
Macron graciously used twitter to congratulate him on his win last month:
"Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump," Macron posted on X. "Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity."
We'll give this relationship a few months before fractures start to show. Trump's America-first vision will no doubt strain relationships and test the patience of foreign world leaders.
It's either his way or the highway.
