A memo is due out soon from the White House specifying that all federal workers who don't want to return to the office through Sept 30, as long as they resign by February 6.

According to unspecified sources, about 6% of workers work full-time in the office. They find that unacceptable. Some people have disputed this fact.

They expect about 5-10% of employees to accept the offer, which could be a few hundred thousand people. The estimated "savings" of these buyouts would be as high as $100,000,000,000 a year.

It applies to all full-time federal workers of the United States of America, excluding military personnel, the postal service, and those in immigration enforcement or national security

In what is sure to send shockwaves throughout the U.S. federal government employee rolls, the union, AFGE - the largest federal union - denounced the offer.

"Between the flurry of anti-worker executive orders and policies, it is clear that the Trump administration's goal is to turn the federal government into a toxic environment where workers cannot stay even if they want to," its president Everett Kelley said in a statement.

President Trump expects all federal workers to return to the office within 30 days. There is also a freeze in hiring federal workers.
