Trump's BBB Passes: What it means for immigration

Many days of negotiating and hang wringing later, the U.S. House of Representatives have passed U.S. President Donald Trump's 'Big Beautiful Tax Bill'. We called it BBB for short.

The vote was 218-214, with 2 Republicans voting against it, and ahead of schedule. It was only Thomas Massie - a Kentucky lawmaker, and Brian Fizpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania who were against it.

There will be $3.3 trillion added to the U.S. debt load through 2034 - due to tax cuts. Unfortunately, millions of people are estimated to lose coverage - however it's too early to tell until the action movements happen within the U.S. government.

For immigration, the president added substantial money to law enforcement and border security. We suspect a heavy focus will be placed on 'sanctuary cities' and 'democratic islands' of the United States.

This is a substantial win for the President. In addition to achieving a $16 million dollar settlement from Paramount/CBS, this week couldn't go any better for the administration.

For immigrants and people new to the United States - those there illegally, this could be dark days ahead.

Tax cuts, more provisions for the military, and reduced foreign aid are a stark contrast to the previous Biden administration.

And yet again, President Trump phoned Russian President Vladimir Putin, who vowed to 'continue fighting' Ukraine. Trump said he wasn't happy about the war with Ukraine, and said he 'didn't make any progress at all.'

Ouch.
