News is an interesting thing to watch in real time. If you ever viewed CNN or Fox, then the familiar bar below the presenter is shown. Then an annoying scroll text is below that. Add in the keyframe for your news logo, time, and stocks.
I kind of want to get away from that look. I want a simplified, streamlined "Japan" style view - but without the crazy Japanese TV show influence.
But this is just a dream right now. Moving to live broadcast video - even streaming, requires a lot of hard work and planning. It will be a while before I jump into that lake.
In the mean time, I will concentrate on:
- Increasing Twitter engagement to the website
- Modify and optimize my website for information that I find useful
- Keep the journalistic integrity as high as possible
- Building a Twitter following - this takes time
Nothing happens instantly, this I know. But with hard work and dedication, I know I can put Calgary, Alberta on the map for news internationally. This city needs an independent, straight-from-the-cuff writer who isn't afraid to post things. Finding the proper balance in news presenting is a challenge though. How many tweets does one really need? You have to space these out - and do it properly.
The launch is still scheduled for December 4.
