[CStone, CEO, Stone News Network] - January 15, 2022
Choosing programming for a news organization wasn't that difficult for me. Below is an example of how I would run my news channel from a Monday - Sunday news cycle, including 24 hours of timing. Coming up with ideas is easy, it's the implementation part that is difficult. Time will tell - but for now, this is idle fantasy and my knowledge that is being pushed out.
Monday
00:00 - 06:00 -- News Night Format with hosts who prefer to work evenings. We will have political discussions at 2AM, including live coverage to current news events. Most interviews will be conducted via Skpe or Cisco Webex for call quality. Expect late night remotes with people from far places.
06:00 - 09:00 -- Morning America This segment will focus on waking up, bringing people up to speed on the top 10 news items affecting America today. Coverage will range far and wide. Special focus will be placed on Washington DC and New York. Lively chats about the weather will be interspersed with tiny slices of sports and the economy. Heavy focus will be placed on politics and continuing to follow hot topics and stories.
09:00 - 12:00 -- Insight America A specialized segment for focusing on Washington DC. Scrums and messages from ranking politicians will be discussed. Expect to see familiar faces in this news segment, ranging from GOP and Democrats of all rank and file.
12:00 - 15:00 -- Ranked News Viewers will be encouraged to rank up news items using our web site (TBD). Discussions will be kept inline with FCC and Canadian broadcast standards. Hard rules on expletives and inappropriate behavior will be enforced strictly.
15:00 - 18:00 -- Broadcast News 3 hours of political topics, with live coverage on the White House lawn. Focus will be made on Washington DC.
18:00 - 19:00 -- House Hour Focusing on the Capital, an hour dedicated to rank and file politicians trying to pass legislation and/or discussions to world events.
19:00 - 20:00 -- Debates Live A round-table discussion format, with at least 5 speakers at the table, with guests only available via hologram or Skype/Webex.
20:00 - 24:00 -- Evening America 4 hours of continuous news, ranging from current political issues, scandals, etc. A wide guest list will be curtailed and voted on internally. This will be a more relaxed news cycle, with breaking news jumping to the foreground at any moment.
Breaking News As with any news organization, SNN will have breaking news available. This 2nd hosting position will be staffed by people who are familiar with the format and will work directly (remotely) with the production team on coordination and topics. Strict adherence to topics will be held, and anyone deviating from the topics will be held accountable.
