President Donald J. Trump lashed out on his social media platform Truth Social the other day, stating he believes he will be arrested on Tuesday in New York City. Prosecutors are considering charging the former President for the Stormy Daniels transactions that were linked to a private relationship people believe he had with her. Allegations that he had a private relationship which resulted in Trump providing a cheque to Michael Cohen. This was for payments Cohen made on behalf of the Fmr. President to Stormy Daniels.
Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney who is putting heat on Fmr. President Trump and stated he thinks Trump might be indicted next week.
Law enforcement officials have been making plans to prepare for any public unrest should the indictment go forward next week. Trump's post on Saturday stated "Illegal leaks from the highly corrupted Manhattan district attorney."
Meanwhile Trump sent out a fundraising e-mail on Saturday, asking supporters to support him and to protest should he be indicted.
It should be noted that no former or sitting President has ever been indicted on any criminal charges, not even Nixon. President Nixon was pardoned by President Gerald Ford.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has been appointed to investigate Fmr. President Trump's involvement in the classified document at Mar-a-Lago. He appointed Jack Smith to oversee the criminal investigation into the documents found at his private residence.
And time will tell whether or not Fmr. President Trump will be arrested. Polls suggest Trump is leading over 17 percentage points ahead of DeSantos. Trump continues to battle against the January 6th riot fallout that occurred during the remaining few days of his Presidency.
