A judge has sentenced the Michigan teenager to life in prison for murdering 4 students at the Oxford High School in Michigan - which happened in 2021.

Ethan Crumbley, 17, was seated in the courtroom for hours while victims read impact statements in emotionally tearful moments.

Just before the defendant's fate was decided, he said: "Any sentence that they ask for, I ask that you do impose it on me." Crumbley said to the court. "I want them to be happy, and I want them to feel secure and safe. I do not want them to worry another day. I really am sorry for what I've done... But I can try my best in the future to help other people, and that is what I will do. I am a really bad person. I've done terrible things."

It is very rare for minors to be sentenced to life sentences in Michigan. Crumbley was 15 when he executed the 4 people at the school. Crumbley brought a gun to school one day, and his backpack was never checked. The parents noticed there was a picture of a gun drawn with the note that said 'The thoughts won't stop me. Help me."

He would later murder 4 students in cold blood at the Oxford High School in 2021.

The judge remarked "The court cannot ignore the deep trauma caused by the state of Michigan and the Oxford community."

Ethan Crumbley's defense tried to urge the judge to give him another chance because 'He is an artist. He is a historian. There are days I have been oblivious sitting in a cell for three hours just talking to him. His life is salvageable."

Crumbley wrote in a journal that 'his desire to watch students suffer and that the likelihood he would spend his life in prison. He made a video just before the shooting, saying what he would do the next day.

It happened in the Oxford Township of Michigan, 60 Km north of Detroit. Crumbley had a habit of looking at shooting videos and gun ammunition while in class. He used his smart phone.

No one clued into the fact that this young man was on the edge of committing murder.
