In a surreal moment that hasn't happened since Reagan was attacked: Donald Trump, while speaking at a crowd in Butler, Pennsylvania, was shot in the right ear by a domestic terrorist named Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20. It was 6:02 PM on a warm Saturday evening. You could hear the song "God Bless the U.S.A. ringing in the background."

As the former president was speaking, pops could be heard from the distance and he ducked to grab his right ear. Moments later, the Secret Service pulled him down and when he got up, blood could be seen dripping down the right side of his face.

Crooks, 20, was stationed on the roof of a nearby building about 125 meters away. How and why this attack happened is still a mystery. A sniper took him out moments after Crooks was spotted. 1 person was killed and 2 were in critical condition as a result of the shooting yesterday.

Trump escaped except for losing a chunk of the top of his right ear. He winced in pain and raised his right fist into the air, yelling "Fight Fight Fight!" as they placed him into the car.

Law enforcement officials found bomb-making equipment inside the vehicle and the home of Crooks.  Crooks had graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022. He won awards for Math and Science. His political stance wasn't known, but records reveal that he registered as a Republican voter. He also gave $15 to a progressive political action committee on January 20, 2021.

He had an AR-style rifle at the scene, and was able to get close to the stage where the former president was speaking.

They believe the weapon was purchased by his father about 6 months ago, according to two law enforcement officials.

The investigation is continuing, and it is not known if there are any accomplices.
