A co-worker, over lunch last week, had said about the movie: "I felt so insulted after spending $15 that I wanted to walk out. What the hell did I just watch?" he said incredulously.
This movie suffered an 82% decline in a week since hitting the theatres and being ripped apart by film critics and fans.
So far, “Folie a Deux” has generated $51.6 million domestically and $165.3 million globally. The Warner Bros. film carries a hefty $200 million price tag and, at this rate, will struggle to get anywhere near the $450 million needed to break even, according to sources familiar with the financials.
Heeding the warnings, I decided NOT to watch even an illegal copy of this film. Why put myself into such torture?
Imagine investing $200 million dollars and have it evaporate quickly - well, that's exactly what happened with this Warner Brothers film. Burning the money would have had more of a use in this case.
Heaping praise onto the actors would be useless. They knew what they were getting into. Were they that desperate for cash and/or attention?
Having seen the first movie, there was no need to create a second one. It was awful enough.
Good luck if you saw this one.
