The San Francisco Bay Area fire is under more control today, as firefighters work to put out areas burning in the state.

Two homes were damaged and 15 acres was at about 50% contained this morning. About 500 people were ordered to leave due to the fire risk.

Interstate 580 - or parts of it - had to be closed due to the fire, however it later re-opened. Officials are on the watch for high temps and winds which cause the fire to spread very quickly.

About 33 years ago, a 1991 fire caused the deaths of 25 people and destroyed thousands of homes in the Berkley and Oakland hills area.
