Is America Ready for a Woman who is President?

During a CNN town hall last month, Harris said:

“Listen, I am running because I believe that I am the best person to do this job at this moment for all Americans, regardless of race and gender.”

Harris stands with a 2% lead over Trump - astonishingly close considering the popularity of the former president with male voters. People said she laughed too much, and for Trump, not enough. When President Biden left the race a few months ago, he was at a huge disadvantage in the election: His disastrous debate with Trump, embarrassing mistakes on stage and while travelling - couldn't be ignored. And when President Biden got COVID again, we knew his goose was cooked.

"Take America back" is Trump's slogan - but to where? Did America really go off the rails during the past 4 years under President Biden's administration?

And while many tout the lower drug costs and increased health care for Americans, it's hard to overlook the fact that illegal immigration is a steaming pile of crap that can't be ignored this time.

And yet, even after the former president (Trump) was almost assassinated twice this summer -- his popularity did not rise as fast as he'd  hope to. One thing to say about the former president is that he says things that should otherwise never be mentioned. He tends to belittle his opponents or people who speak out against him. The problem with this tactic is it makes you look awful and vindictive.

And when he does do incredibly kind things, people are astonished at this. To compare either candidate to Nazi Germany is utterly ridiculous. The time to reduce people to obsolete ideologies have come and gone about 100 years ago.

And we'll look back at this election and wonder "What did Kamala do that Trump couldn't?"

Time will tell.
