After hearing the comment about Puerto Rico and comparing it to floating garbage, President Biden had some words to say about it:
"The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s — his hatred — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American,” Biden said in a Zoom call with the organization Voto Latino. “It's totally contrary to everything we've done, everything we've been."
Marco Rubio also chipped in with his own words:
“I hope their campaign is about to apologize for what Joe Biden just said,” Rubio said, addressing Trump. “We are not garbage. We are patriots who love America. And thank you for running, Mr. President.”
President Biden also said on Twitter:
"Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump's supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That's all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don't reflect who we are as a nation."
The wrathful hatred from the insult the other day has echoed across multiple news sources and television shows. The View roasted Donald Trump and his comedian supporter.
With about a week left until election day, we expect more mud slinging.
