CALGARY [SNN] -- If you thought politics couldn't get any dirtier, think again. Harris said some cold, hard words about the former president today. "He simply does not respect the freedom of women or the intelligence of women to know what's in their own best interests and make decisions accordingly. But we trust women."
Trump's aim is to appease the women voters where his support is notably softer than Harris. The line that really irked Harris was "Well, I'm going to do it whether the women like it or not. I am going to protect them." Kamala was quick to reply. "This is just the latest on a long series of reveals by the former president of how he thinks about women and their agency."
“I’m going to protect them from migrants coming in. I’m going to protect them from foreign countries that want to hit us with missiles and lots of other things,” Trump said.
The slim margin between Harris and Trump has been narrowing over the past few days to as small as 1.8% -- a really close election.
The tone and authority behind his statement is what we believe makes Harris angry. What right does the former president have over women's own bodies? Their reproductive rights? It takes an old, fatherly tone which doesn't sit well with millennial and younger women.
One could think no worse of a hell than being raised by Generation X parents, but hey, here we are in 2020.
Early voting in battleground states has been strong with about 1.2 million votes cast so far. There's about a 9 point difference between women voters who support Harris vs. Trump. That speaks a lot alone.
Time will tell if the former president can muster up the support he had in the first election he was in.
We really wonder what bombshells will happen over the next few days.
And, on another point, where is the President of the United states been these past two months?
Anyone?
