Columbia Turns Back Migrant Flights: That's a 25% Tariff

Today President Trump said he would impose a 25% tariff against Columbia, with sanctions and travel bans. This happened after the South American country turned away two U.S. military flights with Columbian migrants being deported.

The tariffs, which will be 25% of all goods coming into the United States, will go up 50% in 1 week. There will be travel bans and visa revocations for Columbian government officials and it's allies. "These measures are just the beginning" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"We will not allow the Columbian Government to violate it's legal obligations with regard to the acceptance and return of the criminals they forced into the United States!"

Columbia's fateful decision was echoed by Mexico, who also refused a request last week to let U.S. military aircraft to land with migrants.

Brazil has condemned the degrading treatment of Brazilians - handcuffed on a commercial deportation flight. The plane had 88 Brazilian passengers, 16 U.S. security agents, and eight crew members.

Officials from the U.S. State Department, Pentagon, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
