At 13% containment and growing, officials are hopeful that the wildfire that destroyed thousands of homes and billions in value - will be over soon. Dangerous winds are expected in California over the next two days.

About 1,000 California National Guard are being sent to L.A, which brings the total number to 2,500 personnel.

“The National Weather Service is predicting close to hurricane-force-level winds and so we’re making urgent preparations,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said. “My top priority and the top priority of everyone else is to do everything we can to protect lives.”

Desperate from having the fire take over the ridgeline, causing the fire to run downhill into other communities. The number of people who died from the fire is estimated at 25. About 29 people are still missing.

This is the deadliest fire in California history. Although the Camp Fire of 2018 killed 85 people, it did level the town of Paradise. 7,000 structures are damaged or destroyed in this year's fire.

Officials are still trying to determine where the fire started. Something it began in Eaton Canyon, near a high voltage transmission tower. Photos a few weeks ago captured flames at the base of the Southern California Edison electrical transmission tower. It then raced down the canyon into unsuspecting homes.

It certainly doesn't help when you have people posing for selfies in front of the Eaton Fire. In front of burning homes no less.

You can almost hear them say 'Smash that like and subscribe button!"
