President Trump Wages A War of Words

When your largest trading partner says "Hey, we don't need those imports anymore." people tend to listen.

If your boss, wife, or even a best friend said "Listen, John, things aren't working out. I've calculated the amount of money I've spend on this friendship over 30 years, and, quite frankly, you owe me $30,000.00 in lunches."

And before John has time to answer, another line. "You know, if you want, we can work this out. Just join my company. It's that easy. We'll forget that debt."

Quite simply, someone really made President Trump really angry over the past month. And we don't know who did that, to make Canada look like we're cheating the United States of America.

We aren't.

The Canadian dollar is ridiculously low compared to the greenback. Americans pop into Canada every day to buy cheaper goods and services - and sometimes medicines.

President Trump knows this.

But whatever happened recently has really boiled over into a cesspool of hellfire. And I don't think a Rolex watch with Jamaican Blue Coffee would cut it for an apology anymore.

We just wonder what's going on behind those closed doors. Who are his targets. Clearly, if he was angry at Canadian news agencies he'd be lowering the hammer quickly.

But still, one thinks back over the past month or two - what the hell happened?

Why are we here?

How do we leave with dignity?

Where do we go?

Congratulations. We've got the worst ever political problem between Canada and the United States of America - the most powerful nation in the world.

We're too nice to be mean.
