Acting Attorney General, James McHenry, has discharged more than 12 prosecutors who worked with Special Counsel Jack Smith on 2 federal prosecutions of President Donald J. Trump.
Several Columbian staff members of the World Bank were amongst those on the plane which landed in Columbia this past weekend. Visas were revoked, as the Trump Administration cracked down on Countries that refused to admit migrants back to their home countries.
President Trump's words rang through the electronic memo:
“Given your significant role in prosecuting the president, I do not believe that the leadership of the department can trust you to assist in implementing the president’s agenda faithfully,” the firing memo said.
People questioned whether this contravened the Civil Service Law. This law states that employees can be fired only for misconduct or poor performance, not for doing their jobs, said Kristin Alden, a lawyer who specializes in federal employment issues.
It is not known if any other departments will be targeted by the Trump Administration.
