With favorability at a low of 14%, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has resigned as leader of Canada's governing party.
After almost 10 years as Prime minister, Trudeau said he would stay on as Prime Minister until a new Liberal leader is chosen.
Trudeau said 'This country deserves a real choice" at the next election cycle - saying internal disagreements within the party made it impossible for him to lead
Repeated calls from within his own party, and opposition members - were largely ignored. He instead announced that parliament will be "prorogued" until March 24. The government's operations will be frozen for the next 2.5 months.
Within incoming President-elect Trump promising hard tariffs against Canada, Canadians are left wondering who exactly is leading the country?
The most gentle question has to be asked: Who will stand up for Canada, when Trump demands more payments in terms of tariffs? Premiers from across Canada have been asking for him to call an election immediately -- so that people who can defend Canada's trades.
The sunny days are indeed over.
