President Trump announced that he dismissed the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Q. Brown tonight, and replaced him with Air Force Lt. General John Dan "Razin" Caine. Caine was retired, but was pulled back at the request of the president.
President Trump called Brown a 'nice gentleman' and 'an outstanding leader'. “Finally, I have also directed Secretary [of Defense Pete] Hegseth to solicit nominations for five additional high level positions, which will be announced soon,” he wrote on Truth Social.
General James Slife, the Vice Chief of the Armed Forces, has been also fired. “Under President Trump, we are putting in place new leadership that will focus our military on its core mission of deterring, fighting and winning wars,” Hegseth said.
President Trump was listening to Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defence who wanted changes within the leadership ranks.
Allegedly, Hegseth did not like the military's top lawyers - Judge Advocates General. He said “It would be a JAG Officer who puts his or her own priorities in front of the warfighters – their promotions, their medals, in front of having the backs of those who are making the tough calls on the front line.”
Hegseth had nicknamed them 'jagoffs' in his book. The last post that Brown wrote before being let go was: “Border Security has always been critical to the defense of our homeland.”
