First Cabinet Meeting w/President Trump

President Trump held the first U.S. Cabinet meeting today, surrounded by his loyal cabinet. Some of the senate members were not confirmed yet.

They opened with a prayer and thanked God for President Trump - no word of a lie - and began the meeting.

His first task was to scale down the federal departments and agencies with layoffs and terminations. About 2 million Americans are civil servants, working directly for the government and have no political affiliation linked to their position.

Rest assured the President doesn't need any type of technical support, despite Elon Musk wearing an outrageous T-shirt, not even committing to business casual attire.

The only sentence he got correct was the first line muttered. “I actually just call myself humble tech support here because, as crazy as it sounds, that is almost a literal description of the work that the DOGE team is doing: helping to fix the government computer systems,” Musk said.

We'll skip the rest.

“I  spoke with Lee Zeldin,” Trump said, referring to his hand-picked environment secretary. “And he thinks he’s gonna be cutting 65 or so percent of the people from Environmental, and we’re going to speed up the process, too.”

“We had a lot of people that weren’t doing their job,” Trump added. “They were just obstructionists.”

One wonders if those workers would be allowed to keep their jobs if they just 'passed through' whatever law or work the President requested. Probably likely. But we think it's more convenient and necessary in Trump's mind to reduce waste - even if it means taking American jobs.

The DOGE leader admitted making a key mistake in cancelling the Ebola prevention program - but quickly back peddled and said they'd quickly re-instate it. Hopefully, they'll consult with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about that one - because, honestly, this is his responsibility.

And I was Robert F. Kennedy, I would be insanely angry.

Speaking above or around the President is one thing, but doing and acting over others within his managing authority is another.

Our favorite bit of wisdom came early into the meeting. When asked about the e-mail sent to all federal employees, Musk said:

“I think that email perhaps was misinterpreted as a performance review, but actually, it was a pulse check review,” Musk said, chuckling. “Do you have a pulse? Do you have a pulse and two neurons? If you have a pulse and two neurons, you can reply to an email.”

Should we fact check him? He continued on.

“What we are trying to get to the bottom of is: We think there are a number of people on the government payroll who are dead, which is probably why they can’t respond, and some people who are not real people,” Musk said.

“Like, they’re literally fictional individuals that are collecting pay checks.”

President Trump, who is often stern and mean to people, can sometimes be too kind to those who don't deserve it. Hopefully, this little event caused by Musk won't make him extremely angry.

We liked the Gold Card idea. It conveys a special privileged to people with money and are willing to invest into America. For people with money, $5 million is chump change. One wonders how many South American drug criminals would be willing to invest into their own gold cards? Probably many.

But we know, this is not his audience for the card.

After punching the hell out of Mexico and Canada with tariff threats for 1 month straight, Trump relaxed the tariffs until God knows when. It got so bad that even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau resigned.

Fun fact: He's called Governor Trudeau by the President. It can be considered insulting, but taken from the Presidents perspective, he likely sees this as 'inevitable'.

President Trump again repeated his demands to make Canada a 51st state.

“I say Canada should be our 51st state. There’s no tariffs, no nothing. And I say that we give them military protection. They have a very small military,” he said.

“We protect Canada. But it’s not fair. It’s not fair that they’re not paying their way. And if they had to pay their way, they couldn’t exist.”

They then discussed the war in Ukraine and the possibility of peace.

The President is always focused on the best deals. “We’ll be really partnering with Ukraine in terms of rare Earth. We very much need rare Earth. They have great rare Earth,” he said, adding that the deal “brings us great wealth”.

But he was wary about putting American lives on the line to protect Ukraine.

“Well, I’m not gonna make security guarantees beyond very much. We’re gonna have Europe do that,” Trump said.

“It’s a great deal for Ukraine too because they get us over there, and we’re going to be working over there. We’ll be on the land. And you know, in that way, there’s sort of automatic security because nobody’s going to be messing around with our people when we’re there,” he said.

We also predict that Trump is going to abandon NATO fairly soon.

“NATO, you can forget about. I think that’s probably the reason the whole thing started,” Trump said.

What a world we live in.
