NYC Mayor Under Pressure to Resign

The head of NYC's city council has called for the resignation of Eric Adams, New York City's Mayor.

Adams had plead not guilty to the corruption charges that were recently dismissed against him. This allegedly was for enforcing President Donald Trump's request for a strict immigration agenda.

Adams was facing bribery and corruption charges, and has denied them. "With the resignation of deputy mayors, it has become clear that Mayor Adams has now lost the confidence and trust of his own staff, his colleagues in government, and New Yorkers," City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.

"He now must prioritize New York City and New Yorkers, step aside and resign."

Leadership is so bad at the NYC Mayor's office that the 4 deputy majors resigned, citing: "Due to the extraordinary events of the last few weeks and to stay faithful to the oaths we swore to New Yorkers and our families, we have come to the difficult decision to step down from our roles," they said.

Adams tenure is ending in November, and it's not expected he would run again. It doesn't help that US attorney Danielle Sassoon submitted her resignation last week to the Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Many who worked on the corruption case against Adams refused to dismiss his indictment.
