Trump Insists on Tariffs March 4: Mexico, Canada, and China

President Trump announced today that he expects to apply tariffs against Canada, Mexico, and China on March 4th.

The President said that the reason was for the illegal importation of fentanyl and other drugs "at a very high and unacceptable level".

Below is a post from President Trump from his Truth Social account:

This has unfortunately stirred up a hotbed of fury within the 3 countries. It's unbelievable, but who in this world would say that Mexico, China, and Canada agree on something? Completely right.

We have to hand it to the president, he knows how to rattle the cage before negotiations. Canada is tiny compared to the U.S.

China is massive, and so is Mexico. One wonders what the next stage will be and what constitutes 'success' to the president? Canada has invested over a billion dollars into new security officers and even appointed a "Czar" to help out.

The 25% tariff is unjustified and quite literally going to cost consumers in America and Canada a lot of unnecessary money. Before point the finger at others, it should be noted that no country is perfect.

One glaring item the president needs to address is it's outdated drug laws. The year is 2025, and many countries around the world have legalized and taxed cannabis and cannabis by-products. Why not create America as the #1 destination for Cannabis and responsible use?

With California and other states having legal use - it should be time enough to consider removing the outdated 1930's law. Prohibition never worked for alcohol, and it's certainly not working for cannabis.

It should be noted we never ever want fentanyl legalized or available over the counter. That would be utterly ridiculous and downright shameful.

And now, with the clock ticking to March 4th, many provinces in Canada are wondering 'what's next?'. Crucial industries between the U.S. and Canada depend on cheaper goods. Americans love it. And Canadians love American goods.

Why can't it be a win-win?
