White House: We Have Banned The Associated Press

On Friday, The White House announced they would ban the Associated Press from the Oval Office and Air Force One. The ban is due to AP using the term "Gulf of Mexico" instead of "Gulf of America".

U.S. President Donald Trump said they would rename the body of water to "Gulf of America". Some countries do not recognize this change, and the Associated Press has decided not to use this new name.

AP journalists would retain their credentials to the White House Grounds, but no longer have any chair or visitation rights in the Oval Office with the Press Pool.

The White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich commented on this.

“While their right to irresponsible and dishonest reporting is protected by the First Amendment, it does not ensure their privilege of unfettered access to limited spaces, like the Oval Office and Air Force One,” Budowich wrote. “Going forward, that space will now be opened up to the many thousands of reporters who have been barred from covering these intimate areas of the administration.”

Stone News Network has observed the division between AP and The White House for several years now. This is not the first time the White House has banned journalists from their realm.

In 2018, CNN "Journalist" Kaitlan Collins was banned from the White House for asking inappropriate questions. From 2018:

"They said 'You are dis-invited from the press availability in the Rose Garden today,'" Collins told CNN. "They said that the questions I asked were inappropriate for that venue. And they said I was shouting."
