"You should have never started it" President Trump

An astonishing moment in history, President Trump accused President Zelenskyy of starting the war with Russia in 2022.

“You’ve been there for three years. You should have ended it ... You should have never started it. You could have made a deal.”

Russia did invade Ukraine in 2022 - on February 24, to be exact. But the reason wasn't because Ukraine was sending troops to Russia or illegally camping there -- more so, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, thought to stave off influence of Ukraine joining NATO, and decided to put boots to the ground.

And like a slow-motion, bad-decision RISK game, Putin threw his soldiers into hell in late February 2022 with little regard to politics or international law.

President Trump went further.

"We have a situation where we haven’t had elections in Ukraine, where we have martial law,” Trump said in Mar-a-Lago, adding on Wednesday in a post on social media: “A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left.”

Russia and Ukraine continue to battle. After hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars and weapons were given to Ukraine at America's generosity, things have unfortunately soured with this new administration.

To understand why, you need to take a seat at President Trump's boardroom. And now, we struggle to know what really is going on with America's support with Ukraine. Clearly, things have gone 180 degrees into the opposite direction since President Biden left office.

While it's true Ukraine still has Zelenskyy as President, the fact they are at war is preventing elections for happening. President Trump likely wants quick action and results on all of his investments. And therefore, he sees a losing opportunity to pour more money into "bad deals".

We could be wrong.

Clearly, the proper approach would be for Zelenskyy to fly to Washington, and literally thank President Trump hundreds of times and agree to whatever he wants.

But is it right and just? Why should Ukraine suffer for Russia's awful decisions to take over sovereign nations.

President Trump went a bit too far and incorrectly guessed the approval rating of Zelenskyy, saying:

“When you see what’s taken place in Ukraine with millions of people killed, including the soldiers, millions of people killed, a big percentage of their cities knocked down to the ground, I don’t know how anybody even lives there.”

About 48,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since the start of the war. Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed - but who has the real numbers? About 6,000 dead Russian soldiers later, was the war worth the effort?

The only way out of this is tact diplomacy, but clearly, we are too far off the rails to even attempt that now.

Don't be too shocked to hear if President Trump cuts them off weapons or money. He has little patience for long term strategies.
