Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has ordered 10,000 soldiers to push back migrants from reaching the U.S. border, and using buses to move them far away from the Mexico-U.S. border.

In addition, Mexico has applied tariffs against Chinese imports, they hope to show progress in advance of Tuesday's tariff threat.

As of last week, the Trump administration has pledged to add a 25% tariff against goods from Mexico and Canada.

This is despite both countries showing progress in border security and stemming the flow of illegal drugs.

This uncertainty has caused economic chaos around the world.

During the last quarter of 2024, Mexico detained almost half a million migrants - 475, 000 - according to their records. This is double the amount of people during the first 9 months of 2024.
