Andrew Cuomo: "I'm running for NYC Mayor"

Former Governor of New York State Andrew Cuomo is running for Mayor of New York City.

We remember the former Governor doing daily briefings on COVID from his legendary power point presentations. Never had we seen such skill with graph delivery.

He released a 17 minute video, which can be viewed here. Despite his name recognition and deep pocket supporters, we expect the race to be tight. He will be the #1 contender for NYC Mayor.

He has blamed democratic leadership but did not name Eric Adams.

“Today, it is necessary to launch a bold action plan to turn New York City around to save our city,” Mr. Cuomo said.

“Did I make mistakes, some painfully? Definitely, and I believe I learned from them and that I am a better person for it and I hope to show that every day,” Mr. Cuomo says in the video.

“But I promise you this: I know what needs to be done and I know how to do it, and I will give it my all to get the job done — and it will get done.”

“New York City is in trouble,” Mr. Cuomo said. “You see it in the empty storefronts, the graffiti, the grime, the migrant influx, the random violence — the city just feels threatening, out of control and in crisis.”

Facing years of  controversy over sexual harassment claims, but his supporters launched a $15 million dollar SUPER-PAC for him.  They hope to raise that much, but it isn't clear if they achieved their goal.

It should be an interesting time for NYC Politics.
