“She needs to shut her mouth if she has nothing nice to say,” Theodis Daniel told the New York Post on Wednesday.
“For the record, and this is disgusting, the president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who has thus far survived pediatric cancer,” she said. “As if the president had something to do with that, which was in the midst of him praising DOGE. DOGE cuts, among some other things, have cut off funding for ongoing research into pediatric cancer.”
From Huffpost:
MSNBC colleague Nicolle Wallace also tried to make political points ― and the result was cringey.
“I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer,” she said. “But I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters, and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide, and I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people.”
President Trump commented on the coverage.
“For the record — and this is disgusting — the president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who’s thus far survived pediatric cancer, as if the president had something to do with that,” Maddow said after the Tuesday address. “This was in the midst of him praising DOGE. The DOGE cuts, among other things, have cut off funding for ongoing research into pediatric cancer.”
“The good news is very few people watch them anymore,” Trump said Thursday, referencing “MS-DNC,” his nickname for the network. “They have lost such credibility.”
“And, frankly, what Nicolle Wallace said — I’ve never been a fan of hers, and she’s not very talented — but I’ll tell you, what she said the other day about that young man is disgraceful,” the president continued. “She should be forced to resign.”
“And Rachel Maddow should be forced to resign. Nobody watches her anyway,” he added. “It’s not possible they pay her as much money as I hear. But, certainly, she’s lost all credibility, both of them. But what they said the other day, they should be forced to resign, about that young person, who is suffering greatly.”
This isn't the first time Trump has criticized MSNBC or even CNN. He continually calls the network 'fake news'. He is utterly convinced it is not a real news network, but a democratic propaganda machine.
However, no network is completely spotless and perfect. Given the rancid hatred on social media across all news agencies lately, this one chooses a more neutral tone to our competitors.
We believe there is no room for hatred in the news agency. One can quickly back yourself into a corner if you're not careful. Loyalty is important. So is truth.
Was it a big deal for the young man to be pushed up by the President? Yes. Clearly, he appears to have suffered some injuries due to the cancer treatment.
Isn't that alone worth dignity for that young man?
We think so.
Despite who is president, that's what we should remember.
