Approval Rating: 59% Say Economy is in Bad Shape

It's only been almost 3 months, and the Trump administration's approval rating was lowered. About 59% of the people from a CBS poll rated the U.S. economy as bad or very bad. Another 53% said the economy is getting worse.

From USATODAY:

  • Some 44% approved of Trump’s handling of the economy and 40% approved of his handling of inflation, both down 4% from March 30, the poll found.
  • 58% of respondents said the president’s policies are driving up prices and 18% said they believe his decisions will bring costs down.
  • “We are doing really well on our TARIFF POLICY. Very exciting for America, and the World!!! It is moving along quickly,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday.

Around 44% of the 2,410 Americans approve of the Presidents handling of the economy. About 40% approved his handling of inflation. About 58% of the respondents said they oppose the new tariffs put into place by the new President.

This survey took place between April 8 - 11. Fortunately, Trump announced a 90-day delay on reciprocal tariffs, and lowered the goods coming from most countries to 10%.

The massive 145% tariff increase against China was slightly modified to exempt some items, such as smart phones, computers, chips, and other electronics.

About 2+ trillion dollars was lost on the markets over the past few weeks. And although the markets appeared to have slowly regained, there is a continuous worry about how much further, and where, the tariff situation will eventually end up.

It doesn't help that the President is constantly pivoting in an attempt to calm the nervous markets. The United States of America was made from capitalism. To go back to the 1800's style of business would not only be more expensive, but completely unattainable without extremely high cost to manufacture.

You won't find anyone in America willing to do work per hour that they can do in China or Vietnam. Not when cars in America cost on average $40,000 to $50,000.
