As millions of Canadians vote today on the next Prime Minister, it appears to be a race between the Liberals and Conservatives.
Never since former Prime Minister Stephen Harper was in power, has so much interest been generated into a Canadian election cycle.
The 36-day campaign ended quickly; polling stations are open for 12 hours, and if you want an accurate tracker to who's leading where, I suggest you go to CBC News.
It's likely the Liberals will squeak out with a minority government under Mark Carney - to the wrath of Alberta.
President Trump posted on Truth Social today, baiting people again with a 51st state post again:
"Good luck to the Great people of Canada. Elect the man who has the strength and wisdom to cut your taxes in half, increase your military power, for free, to the highest level in the World, have your Car, Steel, Aluminum, Lumber, Energy, and all other businesses, QUADRUPLE in size, WITH ZERO TARIFFS OR TAXES, if Canada becomes the cherished 51st. State of the United States of America."
Per the CBC:
In an Angus Reid Institute poll released on Dec. 30, the Conservatives were in super-majority territory with 45% support, compared to the Liberals at 11%. The results of a poll released on Saturday had the Liberals at 44% with a four-point lead over the Conservatives at 40%.
As former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tried his best to keep Sunny Days alive, it appears his smile wore out in favor and he had to leave. And the recent tensions of trade with America, this election could be the most important for Canada's future.
Most people I know are not raising elbows, standing in line at Tim Hortons, or saying "Eh" anymore. We are people who work hard, get treated like dirt sometimes, and say mostly nothing. Canada is looking to regain it's international foothold as a champion of democracy.
Let's hope we get one.
