General Motor's flagship car is the Corvette ZR-1 which puts out 1,064 horsepower at the wheels. At a cost of $175,000, it's the most bang for your buck you can find for ICE.
They put not one, but two turbochargers into this one. Motortrend covered the vehicle from top to bottom. We don't expect major volumes for a car that costs that much.
In reality, when you look at these cars, they begin to resemble funny car's from the early 70's: A plastic body shell, maybe a few bits of carbon fiber and steel or aluminum in the frame, and then nothing but plastic or kevlar.
The engine is in the back. There's really no reason to own a car that goes 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, but hey, here's on you can buy.
On the road, we'd expect a harsh ride and scary acceleration. The main problem with these cars is they inspire too much confidence behind the wheel, often resulting in crashed vehicles with dead owners.
But if you're keen to compete with your neighbor's Audi RS4 or SQ5, well, there's no better vehicle besides fully electric ones.
The deranged sound of the twin-turbo V8 will scare you neighbors and put PTSD into wildlife.
