Apparently Prince William is working on changing the way the monarchy works in the future - with help from late Princess Diana's divorce lawyers.
Multiple news sources reported that during a May 23 episode of True Royal Beat, that Prince William is working on major changes. It will be a radical departure from what the King currently does, and what the late Queen did.
According to a Royal insider, Kate Mansey (Editor for the Times Royal section) said:
“I think what’s really interesting about this is, I wrote a profile about William recently, and someone very close to him was saying that this is a move away from these classic kinds of patronages, where you would go and support an existing charity, to actual projects.”
William is beginning to make moves to prepare for his time as King and, according to Mansey, “wants to come away and think, ‘I’ve made a difference there, there’s money that’s gone into that community center or there’s something that’s happened because I went there,’ rather than just showing up and shaking some hands.”
Prince William dropped his father's legal team (Harbottle & Lewis) and partner Gerrard Tyrrell. He's now represented by Mishcon de Reya, the legal firm the late Princess Diana used for her 1996 divorce.
The Prince isn't interested in any ribbon-cutting ceremonies from the Royal Family anymore. Apparently he wants to enact real change.
Time will tell.
