U.S. President Donald Trump was dealt a blow today, after a US Federal Court ruled that he overstepped authority by imposing global tariffs. This is a major setback for the president's economic agenda.

It was the Court of International Trade which ruled an emergency law involved by the White House doesn't provide unilateral authority to impose tariffs on almost every country.

The court said the US Constitution gives Congress exclusive powers to regulate commerce with other nations, and doesn't allow the president to supersede this authority.

An appear was filed within minutes of the ruling by the Trump administration.

This is one of 13 other states challenging the president on his authority to literally ruin local economies and cause chaos within global markets.

Per the BBC, it has been a literal rollercoaster since the president raised global tariffs on almost every conceivable trading partner in the world.
